Technology

Verix has spent 5 years and $30M of R&D developing cutting-edge technologies and patented algorithms to solve the most complex analytic issues customer face. Verix has changed the way businesses consume and utilize data, in accomplishing our mission of helping companies streamline their commercial operations and grow their businesses.

The product is an on-demand service delivered as SaaS and can also be installed on-site with the capability to integrate into existing Business Intelligence frameworks and users’ environments, employing web services and single sign-on capabilities to ensure seamless connectivity.

The Verix platform was designed for flexibility and scale for organizations of any size. Our analytical engine allows users to automatically scan the vast amounts of data that organizations produce and consume today. Our system was designed to support ongoing changing needs and continues to evolve to meet the requirements of our customers and the growing market.

Expertise

The secret behind Verix’s powerful analysis algorithms is a multidisciplinary approach and expertise applied from Statistical, Mathematical, Machine Learning, and Bioinformatics fields. This approach enables Verix to work on and automatically search through a huge amount of business data to find statistically significant anomalies.  These anomalies or HotSpots represent a change in business performance measures and can identify emerging trends.  Verix performs automatic segmentation of the detected exceptions, then analyzes the business drivers attributed to the phenomena.

Our HotSpot detection algorithms work in a 3-stage analysis process:

  1. Verix scans each and every relevant intersection of the data, flagging all statistically significant outliers (based on historical behavior and additional business logic).
  2. Then common characteristics of the flagged intersections are uncovered, so that users will receive the highest level alerts relevant to them – eliminating redundancy and the clutter that so many alert systems cause.
  3. We quickly move on to analyze additional measures and related data, providing the answers to “Why” –and categorizing the alerts according to their business meaning.

The Verix platform is horizontal in nature, and utilizes contextual templates to support specific business needs.

The Verix platform is built in a modular manner, maximizing use of common and industry neutral functions, while providing both generic capabilities and specifically packaged solutions for different verticals.

Architecture

  • Analysis Server:  Data mining, detection, qualification and storage of business alerts (HotSpots); Java based
  • Application Server:  packaged J2EE applications, using JBoss and other open source products
  • Client:  Browser based thin client.  No downloads or installation required
  • Data storage and access:  Oracle based
  • Servers run both on Linux and Windows
  • ETL Process:  Proprietary to Verix.   Performs data integration and transformation, and applies business logic required to support the subsequent analysis and display
